#LOVEWINS : Marriage Equality in America

History has been made with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage Nationwide!!!!! States can no longer ban same sex marriages. This action establishes a new civil right, allowing a victory amongst gay rights advocates, which once upon a time seemed unthinkable.

Today, Friday June 26th, nearly 46 years to the day after a riot at New York’s Stone Wall Inn lead in the modern gay right’s movement.

After the ruling, President Obama called lead plaintiff in the case, Jim Obergefell quoted as saying “Congratulations! Your leadership on this has changed the country”. Three years after President Barack Obama voiced his support for marriage equality, his administration supported the same sex couples at the Supreme Court. There’s a victory that has been won today! Many people are overcome and overjoyed with this decision all across the country and throughout social media. The message of the day is #LOVEWINS!!!!!!!
